HSNEGA reopening

The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) is reopening Tuesday after being closed to the public almost two weeks ago because of an outbreak of distemper and parvovirus.

HSNEGA FACEBOOK POST:

“We’re pleased to share with you that our shelter will reopen this Tuesday, March 19.

We appreciate your patience, understanding and support as we’ve navigated illness among our shelter pets. In partnership with the Department of Agriculture, our team has determined it’s safe to resume adoptions. We urge the public to vaccinate your puppies once they’re of age, avoid environments and dog-to-dog contact where illness may be present if they’re not yet fully vaccinated and be diligent about your pet’s annual care.

All of our available animals are healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, spayed or neutered, microchipped and ready to see you! Thank you again for your support.”
