Here we go again…

From north to south, Georgia is threatened with another round of severe weather this week. And that will be followed by a big drop in temperatures.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says there’s the chance of storms with damaging winds of at least 60 mph Friday afternoon. Rain is expected to be less than what most places experienced a couple of days ago, but tornadoes are more likely.

A Wind Advisory has already been issued for most of north and central Georgia, including Gainesville and surrounding areas, from 10:00 Friday morning through 1:00 Saturday morning. Winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 40 mph can be expected.

Once the storm system moves on, much colder weather is expected for early to mid-next week next week with lows in the teens and 20s at least through Wednesday. Light snow is possible across north Georgia Monday and Tuesday, but little if any accumulations are expected. 7-Day Forecast 34.31N 83.83W (weather.gov)
