In the wake of the controversy over a recently implemented change in policies regarding the city-owned parking facilities, the Helen City Commission (HCC) plans address the issue at a meeting Tuesday.
The Commission voted to end free parking for White County residents and Helen city employees in all city-owned paid parking lots, including the Edelweiss and Chattahoochee Strasse lots and a new lot under construction on Narr Weg. Helen’s downtown parking changes draw immediate criticism
After reviewing the changes it had approved, the commission at a recent meeting voted to revisit the issue with one businessman suggesting that a parking could be the answer the concerns.
