The GBI agent who has headed the agency’s Cleveland-based Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) the past five years, Trent Hillsman, has been promoted to Inspector.
In that role, Hillsman, a graduate of Piedmont College (now university) will provide supervisory and administrative oversight to several Investigative Division work units around the state. Included are the ARDEO, West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office, West Georgia Gang Task Force, Metro Gang Task Force, Special Operations Unit, Commercial Gambling Unit, and Investigative Computer Services.
Hillsman began his law enforcement career as a police officer with the University of Georgia Police Department in 1997. He has been with the GBI since 2001.
