Hall County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Gwinnett County man over the weekend after he rammed a vehicle with three people inside during an apparent road rage incident on the south end of the county.
Scout Patrick Bigger, 26, of Sugar Hill, was charged with three counts of felony aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count of hit and run. At last check, he remained in the Hall County Jail with no bond on the aggravated assault charges.
Just before 2:45 Saturday morning, the deputies responded to a location on West Moreno Street in Buford and located the three victims speaking with Gwinnett County Police. The officers determined the crimes had occurred on the I-985 southbound ramp to Friendship Road, which is in Hall County.
“Deputies questioned the three victims – two women, ages 19 and 20, and a 26-year-old man, who was an Uber driver,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “They determined the women had traveled to Gainesville with Bigger to attend a housewarming party. Bigger became intoxicated during the party; he was also verbally abusive to the 20-year-old woman. The women called an Uber for a ride home to Gwinnett County and left the party.”
As the Uber driver drove away from the party, Bigger reportedly called the 20-year-old victim, berating her for leaving the party without him. She realized she had been sharing her location with Bigger on her phone and hung up.
“A short time later, Bigger drove up behind the Uber vehicle (a Toyota Corolla) in his Dodge Ram pickup on I-985 southbound,” Williams said. “The Uber driver took the Friendship Road exit and Bigger drove up beside him, ramming his truck into the driver’s side door of the Toyota. Bigger got out of his truck and attempted to open the rear passenger door where the 20-year-old victim was sitting. At that point, the Uber driver sped away, drove to the location on W. Moreno Street and called 911.”
The occupants of the Toyota were not injured.
With the assistance of Gwinnett PD, HCSO deputies located Bigger at his apartment just after 7:00 a.m. and took him into custody.
