HCSO: Sexual battery case solved

Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Flowery Branch man this week in a sexual battery investigation that began this spring.

The incident was reported to deputies on May 3. They met with the victim at a safe location and took the report. The case was then assigned to investigators.

According to the preliminary investigation, the 19-year-old victim awoke to find her top removed and the suspect, Cesar Humberto Garcia-Pando, 48, touching her breasts. The incident occurred at Garcia-Pando’s residence in the 4000 block of Chestnut Drive. Garcia-Pando knew the victim before the alleged crime.

Investigators obtained a warrant charging Garcia-Pando with misdemeanor sexual battery. HCSO Warrant Service Unit deputies took him into custody at his home on Thursday afternoon.

Garcia-Pando was booked into the Hall County Jail following his arrest. He posted $5,700 bond and was released Friday morning.
