Michael Gary Lee, 24, of Gainesville, remains in the Hall County Jail following his arrest this week on a charge of sexual battery on a child under the age of 16.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“The arrest came after Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol deputies began an investigation into two runaway teen sisters around noon on Thursday. The girls’ grandmother reported she had last seen the girls the previous night around 9:30 when Lee arrived at their residence on Bark Camp Road in his pickup truck. She had allowed the girls to leave with him, believing they would return home later than night. The grandmother did not have contact information for Lee.
With the assistance of Hall County E911, deputies were able to ping the cell phones of the girls. They tracked one of the signals to a residence on River Run Circle, where they made contact with one of Lee’s relatives. The relative contacted Lee, and he agreed to return the girls to their residence to meet with deputies.
During the course of that meeting, deputies learned Lee and the girls had met about a week earlier via social media. The investigation also determined Lee had had inappropriate sexual contact with one of the teens during the time the girls were missing from the home. As a result, Lee was arrested and is being held without bond as the investigation continues.”
