4:15 P.M. UPDATE – The former live-in boyfriend is the suspect in the death of a 44-year-old Oakwood woman who was gunned down Thursday night at a Mountain View Road convenience store – and authorities say she was shot several times outside the place and again inside it.
Investigators identified the victim as Tia Vidon Keith and the shooter remained at large late Friday afternoon.
Keith arrived at the Subhanallah Food Mart just after 9:30 p.m. to make a purchase, investigators said. “When she returned to her vehicle, the suspect was waiting in the passenger seat,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “For an unknown reason, the suspect shot Ms. multiple times inside the car. Keith managed to escape and ran back into the store, but the suspect followed and shot her again. She died on the floor of the business.”
The store clerk and a customer were inside at the time but were not injured. Deputies from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Oakwood Police Department arrived minutes later, responding to a 911 call from the clerk.
Authorities said they have viable leads on the suspect’s location but are withholding details for the safety of law enforcement personnel conducting the search.
