*An undercover Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigation last week led to the arrest of Hosuk Kim, 59, of Lawrenceville, on prostitution charges at a business in the 1600 block of Atlanta Highway. According to the sheriff’s office, Kim was arrested after she offered to perform a sexual act on an undercover officer in exchange for money. EARLIER STORY. POSTED SATURDAY: A prostitution arrest occurred Thursday. The suspect is a 59-year-old woman who is being held in lieu of a $2,600 bond. The sheriff’s office did not have details about the arrest Friday.
*The state patrol is investigating a fatal two-vehicle wreck that occurred about 10:30 Monday morning on Ga. 15 (Expressway 441) in Habersham County at Hollywood Hills Road. Killed, according to troopers, was Donald Miller, 70, Mooresville, N.C., who turned into the path of an SUV.
*Troopers have now identified the motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a similar crash on Georgia 365 near Lula Sunday as a Wyoming resident, Nicolas Gara, 52. *Gainesville Police are investigating a series of recent thefts in which the losses totaled more than $28,000. They occurred from a local store ($3,000), a construction site ($4,322), and a car (21,000), according to spokesman Kevin Holbrook.
*Lt. Holbrook also says the people who ran from a wrecked SUV late Friday afternoon in the Academy Street area, prompting a manhunt on the northside of town, were never located and it remains “an open case.”
*Gwinnett Police recently arrested a 28-year-old Buford man, Roy Higgins, they had been looking for several weeks in connection nearly 30 charges stemming from a traffic stop last May and a series of Entering Auto cases from last year. Higgins is charged with Entering Auto (10 counts), Financial Transaction Card Fraud (10 counts), Obstruction (1 count), Improper Lane Change (1 count), Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (1 count), Possession of Marijuana (1 count), Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts), and Probation Violation (1 count).
