HCSO: Nearly 3/4 million $$$ in drugs seized

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) recently confiscated drugs worth nearly $750,00 on the street and arrested a man south of Gainesville on several drug charges, including trafficking. 

HCSO NEWS RELEASE:

“Investigators took Daniel Zeick Hernandez, 36, into custody on Thursday afternoon, May 9, while executing a  search warrant at his residence in the 3000 block of Wallace Road. 

During the preliminary investigation, investigators found approximately 65 pounds of marijuana, 450  tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) edibles, 60 ounces of THC oil, 2,870 grams of THC moon rocks, 11 THC vapes  and 18 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms). In addition to the drugs, investigators seized five firearms,  two cars and approximately $156,000 cash. The items were confiscated from the home and from a storage  unit in Hernandez’s name. 

Hernandez is charged with the following felony offenses: 

∙ Trafficking marijuana 

∙ Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon 

∙ Possession of THC oil with intent to distribute 

∙ Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute 

∙ Possession of psilocybin 

∙ Possession of marijuana 

Deputies booked Hernandez into the Hall County Jail following his arrest. He is being held without bond, and  the case remains under investigation.”
