HCSO: Fight leads to arrest of one on long list of charges, including child cruelty

Marc Anthony Villarreal, 24, of Gainesville, remains in the Hall County Jail following his arrest in a domestic incident at a residence on Shallowford Drive.

HCSO NEWS RELEASE:

“Around 10:15 p.m., Saturday…Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to the residence to investigate a reported assault. When they arrived, they encountered Villarreal outside the house. Five adults and three children were inside the residence. Deputies determined all of those present at the scene lived together in the house.

According to the investigation at the scene, a verbal argument had occurred between Villarreal and the other adult family members. Villarreal and one of the men involved, age 43, went outside where the argument turned physical. Villarreal struck the man in the face, causing a bloody nose. The other occupants exited the house and attempted to break up the fight. Villarreal then went to his vehicle and retrieved a handgun, which he brandished at the adults. The three children, all under the age of 12, witnessed the fight.

Deputies determined Villarreal was the primary aggressor in the physical fight. He was charged with six (6) counts of aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act (FVA), one count of battery FVA and three (3) counts of third degree child cruelty.

Villarreal is being held without bond on the aggravated assault charges.”
