A FedEx driver from Danielsville, charged with DUI and hit-and-run among other things, remained in the Hall County Jail at last check after her arrest Monday on Clarks Bridge Road near Autry Road.
Patrol deputies responded on Monday to a two‑vehicle collision in which a 19‑year‑old pickup driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Deputies reported that the other driver had left before they arrived.
According to the investigation, the pickup had been traveling north on Clarks Bridge Road when a southbound FedEx delivery van crossed the double yellow line. The side mirrors of both vehicles collided, sending glass into the pickup’s open window and causing cuts to the driver’s face. The driver provided deputies with a description of the van.
A short time later, a deputy located the van and its driver, identified as Donyelle Rae Rabun, at Pine Valley Road and White Sulfur Road. Rabun admitted she did not stop after the crash. Deputies noted she had bloodshot eyes, appeared unsteady, and that a strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. A small amount of marijuana and two Clonazepam pills not in their original container were found inside.
Rabun is charged with:
DUI‑drugs
possession of less than an ounce of marijuana
possession of Schedule IV drugs
drugs to be kept in original container
hit and run
failure to maintain lane
FedEx spokesperson Shannon Davis said Rabun is no long a FedEx employee. “Safety is our top priority and our thoughts are with those involved in this incident. This individual is no longer providing service on behalf of FedEx, and we are fully cooperating with local law enforcement in their investigation.”
