HCSO: Drug raid nets $50k worth of meth

A Gainesville man faces felony drug trafficking charges after investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) seized nearly a kilo of methamphetamine during a recent operation.

Delany Eugene Vandyke, 52, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking of methamphetamine and sale of methamphetamine, all felony crimes. Vandyke also has a hold for probation violation.

The investigation began last month and ended with a search warrant executed at a location on Reed Drive in Oakwood Monday. Investigators located and seized 2.1 lbs. of meth, most of it packaged for individual sale. Estimated street value of the illegal narcotics is $50,000.

Vandyke remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond at this time.
