HCSO: DeKalb stolen pickup recovered, 3 suspects arrested

Three men, one from Gainesville, suspected of stealing a pickup in DeKalb County were arrested recently by Hall County sheriff ‘s deputies.

HALL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“On Sunday evening, June 9, deputies located a stolen pickup truck from Dekalb County near the intersection of GA 323/Gillsville Highway near Mustang Drive. When deputies made contact with the Ford F150, the occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.

Deputies apprehended two suspects, Carl Henry Wilson, 22, of Marietta, and Davonte Desean Smith, 18, of Stone Mountain, at approximately 7:40 p.m., roughly an hour after they fled. The third suspect, Gabriel Marcus Ledford, 20, of Gainesville, was taken into custody at approximately 8:30 p.m. Deputies located and arrested all three suspects in the general area where the stolen vehicle was located.

Wilson is charged with theft by receiving (felony) and giving false information to an officer (misdemeanor). Smith is charged with theft by receiving (felony) and two counts of obstruction of an officer (misdemeanor). Deputies charged Ledford with theft by receiving (felony), possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (felony), obstruction of an officer (misdemeanor) and possession of marijuana (misdemeanor).

Wilson remains in the Hall County Jail without bond, and Smith is being held on $7,000 bond. Ledford was released on $15,300 bond Thursday afternoon, June 12.”
