HCSO: 2 arrested for stealing jewelry, one also charged with stealing $$$

Hall County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Gainesville man and woman Wednesday afternoon for selling stolen jewelry earlier this month. The man was also charged, separately, with stealing $2,000 from a friend. Heidi Lizbeth Hilario, 19, and Christian Osorno-Arteaga, 20, were picked up in the 2000 block of Atlanta Highway.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

Both are charged with one count each of theft by deception and theft by receiving for selling a stolen gold necklace and ring at a pawn shop on Feb. 7 for approximately $560. Hilario is additionally charged with one count each of theft by deception and theft by receiving for selling a stolen gold ring at a different pawn shop on Feb. 9 for roughly $65 cash. All of those charges are misdemeanors.

In a separate case, Osorno-Arteaga faces a felony charge of theft by taking for stealing approximately $2,000 from a residence in the 3000 block of Renee Circle on Jan. 7. He was acquainted with the victim.

Hilario remains in jail on $5,200 bond. Osorno-Arteaga is being held without bond.”
