HCSO: $19K+ worth of batteries taken from two cell tower sites

Property crimes investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) are conducting an investigation after two cell tower sites in Hall County were burglarized over the weekend with more than $19,000 worth of batteries reported stolen.

An employee of the cell tower company reported the break-ins at tower sites in the 4500 block of Browns Bridge Road and the 2900 block of Ramsey Road.

In both incidents, someone had stolen large commercial-use batteries by breaking into storage cabinets at each site,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “Four batteries were stolen at the Browns Bridge Road location, while 12 were stolen from the Ramsey Road location. The total estimated value of the stolen items is $19,200.”

The preliminary investigation indicates the burglaries occurred Sunday. The crimes were reported Monday.

Williams added the cases are believed related.
