With the current school year nearing an end, Hall County Schools Supt. Will Schofield announced more pending shuffling of personnel late Wednesday.
Schofield said he will recommend three additional changes, in addition to the one he announced Tuesday:
*Michele Hood as the Director of Innovative and Advanced Programs for the Hall County School District. Hood is currently the Dean of Howard E. Ivester Early College, and she will continue to serve in that capacity as she assumes her new role on July 1. She will replace current Director, Laurie Ecke, who will retire at the end of the school year.
*Laurie Hitzges, the current Principal of World Language Academy Middle School, as the next Principal of McEver Arts Academy for the 2024-2025 school year. Hitzges will take the place of Principal, Brittney Bennett, who will transition full-time to the role of Director of Federal Programs for the district.
*And Dana Walker as the next Principal of Chestnut Mountain Creative School of Inquiry. Walker is currently the Associate Principal at Chestnut Mountain. She will step into the principal role on June 1, replacing current Principal, Betsy Ainsworth, who will transition full-time to the role of Director of Special Education for the district.
On Tuesday, Schofield said he plans to recommend South Hall Middle School (SHMS) Principal Joey Millwood as the next Director of Student Services for the Hall County School District. Millwood will step into the position being vacated by Tamara Etterling, who will retire at the end of April. (SHMS) Assistant Principal, Kristi House will assume the role of Associate Principal as Millwood transitions to his new position.
