Williams Mill Greenspace scheduled to close for sewer project work

Williams Mill Greenspace in Flowery Branch is scheduled to temporarily close to the public beginning Monday, Oct. 9 to Sunday, Oct. 22 while work continues on the Friendship Road Sewer Project.

“This project is a major undertaking and an integral piece of the Hall County Strategic Plan and Master Sewer Plan that will bring sewer service to thousands of residents in the area,” Hall County Public Works Director Bill Nash said.

The trail system leading into Williams Mill will also be closed to the public while the work is in progress.

Guests who frequent Williams Mill Greenspace are encouraged to visit Cherokee Bluffs Park, located a mile west of Williams Mill. Cherokee Bluffs has several amenities to enjoy, including its own trail system, a dog park, a playground and historic features.

“The Friendship Road Sewer Project will be ongoing with completion anticipated in the fall of 2024,” Nash said. “Williams Mill Green space will continue as part of the project, with additional temporary closures to be expected as the project reaches new phases and milestones throughout the next year.”
