More than 100 women turned out earlier this month for Habitat Hall County’s annual Women Build event. It was held March 9 and a recap of the event was released recently.

“Participants assembled at Habitat for Humanity of Hall County’s Copper Glen subdivision where they strapped on hard hats, wrote inspirational letters to Habitat homeowners, competed in a skills challenge, and constructed and raised interior walls for a future Habitat homeowner.

Partnering with Chestatee High School, participants assembled pre-constructed sections of a she-shed benefiting a Habitat homeowner. “Women were working together, creating a bond and friendships, getting great exercise while building with friends to bring happiness to a family”-Women Build 2024 Participant

While taking time out for lunch provided by Chicken Salad Chick, realtors from Candler Real Estate led a conversation regarding the lack of affordable, obtainable housing within the county.

“The information regarding the housing status for the county was very helpful and eye opening.”

“I really enjoyed the event from start to finish. It was very well organized and put together. It was nice meeting one of the homeowners along with talking to the volunteers and learning all about Habitat for Humanity of Hall County.”
