Hall unemployment rate down slightly

Hall County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.1 percent in July, down one-tenth of a percent over-the-month. A year ago, the rate was 2.4 percent.

The labor force decreased in by 772 and ended the month with 114,584. That number went up by 2,784 when compared to July of 2023.

Gainesville finished the month with 111,070 employed residents. That number decreased by 604 over-the-month and rose by 1,949 when compared to the same time a year ago.

In the 13-county Georgia Mountains Regional Commission, which includes most of northeast Georgia, the jobless rate was down one-tenth in July to 3.4 percent over-the-month; the rate was 2.6 percent one year ago.
