Hall GOP picks up top award at district convention

The Hall County Republican Party came back from the 9th District GOP Convention in Dillard Saturday with the district’s top award: Outstanding Party.

Also, at the District Gala Friday night preceding Saturday’s business session, the Hall party’s Cooper Whitmire was named the district’s Rising Star and Bill Berry was recognized for Outstanding Precinct Strategy.

“We are beyond proud of all that has been accomplished this past year with new leadership and our outstanding members!!,” party leaders posted on Facebook. “Thank you to all for your support and countless hours of volunteering and participation!!.…”

District conventions were held all over the state this weekend with the primary objective being choosing delegates to the state Republican convention next month in Columbus. That’s where delegates and alternates to the national convention, which will be held in July in Milwaukee, will be chosen.
