Led by a group in Hall County, a get-out-the-vote campaign by the Georgia Association of Elected Latino Officials (GALEO) urging the Hispanic community in the state to head to the polls this year was recently completed.
According to the organization’s Facebook page, the local group reports knocking on almost 4,000 doors, the most in the state. “We can’t wait to see your efforts for the November elections!” the posting declares.
And in case you are wondering, the Atlanta-based GALEO is aware of the search for Maria Gomez-Perez. It has a Facebook posting about the 12-year-old Gainesville girl’s disappearance and the law enforcement investigation of the matter as well as civilian efforts to get the word out.
