7th District Congressman Rich McCormick (R-Suwanee), whose district includes parts of Hall County, hosted a town hall meeting in Alpharetta Thursday night amid tight security. This one went off without a hitch in contrast to one in Roswell a year ago.
The Roswell meeting sparked heated debate on immigration, executive power, federal spending and more resulting in cheers and boos and was cut short.
At Thursday night’s event, attendees were made to enter through a back door and had their IDs check and were screened for weapons. And it was an RSVP only event.
Nevertheless, it still had a number of confrontational moments.
