If your New Year’s Eve activities include getting together with friends at your favorite Hall County watering hole, you’ll find that no special provisions have been made since it falls on a Sunday this time around.
Gainesville will enforce its Sunday 12:30 p.m.-midnight rule for the sale of beer-, wine-, and liquor-by-the-drink. The same for Oakwood where such sales are permitted on Sundays 11:00-midnight. And ditto for Flowery Branch which has the same hours as Oakwood.
Some places have tweaked their hours to accommodate New Year’s Eve revelers. Athens-Clarke County is one. Sales which normally are not allowed past midnight Sunday will be allowed to continue until 2:30 a.m. New Year’s Eve.
