So, now that board member Mark Petit has resigned to run for Hall County Court Clerk this year where does that leave the county school board, besides short one member?
School district spokesman Stan Lewis provided the answer Wednesday morning.
“There will be a special election in November (during the General Election) to fill the unexpired term created by Pettitt’s departure,” Lewis said. “The board may choose to appoint a member for the interim.”
Petit announced his resignation at a board meeting Monday night. He had announced plans to run for court clerk several weeks ago.
