A Habersham County church is asking for prayers after its longtime pastor collapsed while preaching Sunday.
Church members tell Now Georgia 66-year-old Kenneth Taylor became unresponsive for more than a minute while delivering a sermon at River Road Mission Church in Demorest and struck his head. Taylor reportedly regained consciousness before paramedics arrived.
“He is doing better and we are so thankful and give all the praise to Jesus!” a Sunday night posting on the church’s Facebook page says. “They are keeping him at the hospital over night to continue running tests and to keep checking his heart, also doing a stress test tomorrow. We still aren’t for sure what caused this to happen but he is okay right now and we will keep praying for a full and total recovery and healing!”
Taylor has led the church for more than a decade.
