As Habersham County’s new public safety radio system installation nears completion, coverage data collection is underway.
Last week, county and communications personnel gathered data in the Batesville, Hollywood, Turnerville, and Mt. Airy areas. Ongoing system data collection is continuing this week by employees of Communications International in that company’s vehicle (shown in this post).
Collecting this data will ensure the new system provides adequate radio coverage for law enforcement, emergency services, municipal agencies, and others who respond to you in your time of need, as well as schools and school buses.
While this vehicle primarily focuses on federal, state, and county roads, there are times it may enter private roads and even long driveways as it surveys every map grid across Habersham County for signal coverage, the posting says.
The vehicle’s occupants will not get out or need to talk with you if they do enter your property and should be there for less than a minute.
