A Lawrenceville man is free on bond following his arrest Sunday on DUI and other charges following a wreck on Georgia 365 at Lula Road.
The state patrol says 42-year-old James Smith caused the accident and left the scene only to be found later and arrested. The wreck was a rear-end collision involving a pickup driven by a Cleveland man.
Troopers said after the crash Smith continued west on Lula Road. Following a be-on-the-lookout alert, a Hall County sheriff’s deputy located Smith and his car.
In addition to DUI, he was charged with following too closely, leaving the scene of an accident, open container and driving with a revoked license.
