G’ville warming center opens; United Way milestone; national recognition for NGHS component

*With bitterly cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills in the forecast for next week, a Gainesville homeless shelter is opening a warming center. Good News at Noon opened the facility Friday night at on Dorsey Street. It’s expected to remain open every night for the next week.

*United Way of Hall County is 75 years old this year and to mark the milestone a celebration is planned March 9. Tickets and tables go on sale next week.

*Northeast Georgia Health System’s (NGHS) Center for Simulation and Innovation recently received national recognition from Becker’s Hospital Review and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. The center trains healthcare workers in a simulated environment, according to a NGHS spokesman.
