Gville taking bids for ‘affordable housing’ project

Acting on behalf of the Gainesville Nonprofit Development Foundation, Inc. (GNDF), the City of Gainesville is requesting bids for the construction of four single-family homes referred to as “Summit Street Cottages.”

“This project site is located on a 1.247-acre site off Summit Street, SE in the city of Gainesville,” according to city hall documents. “The proposed development shall consist of four (4) one-story single-family homes built on the same floor plan, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a front porch and small rear porch. The total heated floor area be approximately 1,200-square feet. In
addition, each will have small porches, concrete walkways, a shared access drive, and
parking pads and storage sheds to the side towards the rear of the house.”

The deadline for submitting bids is Jan. 8.
