The City of Gainesville is seeking bids for a Public Safety Complex for its police and fire departments. It began advertising for them several weeks ago.
Spokeswoman Christina Santee says the finished product, though, is at least a couple of years down the road. “The earliest possible completion date is 2026, so we’re a ways out.”
Santee added the facility will be located “where our existing outdoor firing range is off Fullenwider Road. Also on the site is our indoor shooting simulator and burn building.”
Bids are scheduled to be opened next month.
