Gainesville Schools Superintendent Jeremy Williams got high marks on his annual evaluation which the school board released Monday night.
Williams’ highest mark, 4.0, are in three areas; his lowest, 3.20, are in three areas. His average score is 3.60.

Dr. Williams is an effective communicator and leads by example.
Dr. Williams is an excellent leader. His ability to relate to and lead people, while also being well versed in the educational, financial, and operational aspects of the school system, have enabled GCSS to take great strides in recent years.
Dr. Williams has excellent communication skills; relationship builder; conscientious steward of financial matters and transparency; visionary for the district; supports learning and success for all students; supportive of staff. Dr. Williams’ leadership and vision have been instrumental in advancing our district’s goals and improving the educational environment for students and staff.
Dr. Williams leadership style is exemplary, and he is analytical, fair, thoughtful and constantly evolving.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Develop a potential succession plan for key personnel while attracting the best and brightest people at all levels to keep the district moving forward.
Increase academic performance for advanced students (MPACT, Gifted Cluster, Advanced Placement, etc.) while also monitoring new initiatives (i.e. Horizon Academy) in order to maximize success.
Enhance the community engagement with families by providing frequent updates and opportunities for involvement.
Continue to support administrators in their new roles by providing frequent feedback and ensuring that district staff members provide support.
