*A section of Gainesville’s Allen Creek Road that had been closed since August has reopened. It was scheduled to reopen last December but the city announced at that time that the reopening had been pushed back to this month. The city’s Water Resources Department has been doing some work in the area.
*The dog park for large dogs at Laurel Park will be closed for renovations beginning Monday. In the meantime, small and large dogs will be combined in the in the park for small dogs. A notice on the Hall County Parks & Leisure Services Facebook page says, however, if you are not comfortable with intermingling your pup, please note they are welcome to play on any of the greenspaces throughout the park – but they must be on a 6-foot leash and are not allowed inside the baseball fields and tennis/pickleball courts.
