Gville plans meetings on housing needs, issues

The City of Gainesville is working to identify community priorities, affordable housing needs and fair housing issues for its 5-Year Consolidated Plan and Fair Housing Study.

The city will host the following meetings to gather public input:

• 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in the Gainesville Middle School West cafeteria, located at 1279 McEver Road, Gainesville

• 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the HUB at Gainesville High School, located at 830 Century Place, Gainesville

• 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, during the Family Connections Resiliency Conference at the Butler Center, located at 1300 Athens St., Gainesville

Refreshments and Spanish interpretation will be available at all open houses. Children and students welcome.

The purpose? Help guide City staff in their continued efforts to address local housing needs by answering questions like:

• What type of housing would you like to live in? Is this housing available in Gainesville? Is it affordable?

• Does your neighborhood have access to transportation, parks and grocery stores?

• What improvements would you like to see in the next five years?

Come share your thoughts and make Gainesville an even better place for you and your family!
