HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Hall County sheriff’s deputies charged a Gainesville man with hit-and-run and other traffic offenses after finding an overturned SUV abandoned in East Hall County early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 2:00, deputies responded to a call about the vehicle near the intersection of Woodlin Road and Latty Road. They found a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse upside down in a ravine and checked the vehicle and surrounding area. The SUV was abandoned. Deputies spoke with the registered owner and determined a family member, Marco Elias Garcia, 36, had been driving it.
According to the preliminary investigation, Garcia was driving south on Woodlin Road when he swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. The SUV left the road and overturned into a ditch. Garcia walked home from the crash scene without reporting the wreck. Deputies estimate the crash occurred at approximately 9:30 Monday night.
Following the preliminary investigation, deputies located Garcia at his residence in the 5600 block of Woodlin Road. They arrested him without incident and charged him with duty to stop at an accident (hit-and-run), driving with a suspended license and failure to maintain lane.”
He is being held on bonds totaling $7,130.
