Hall Co. man arrested on drug charges, his 2nd drug arrest in two months

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE:

“Angel Diaz, 29, of Gainesville was arrested last week on a list of drug offenses following an investigation by narcotics investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

The illegal narcotics were discovered during a search of a residence on Sherry Lane on Oct. 30, 2023. During the course of the search, investigators found a number of suspected illegal drugs. Investigators determined the drugs belonged to Diaz and arrested him that day for felony possession of psilocybin. He was released from custody on a bond of $5,700 on Nov. 1.

Following an inventory of the other narcotics, investigators issued warrants on Nov. 8 for Diaz’s arrest on the following felony charges:

·         Possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute (2.15 lbs. of marijuana; also found drug paraphernalia)

·         Possession of THC oil with intent to distribute (14 bottles of THC oil)

·         Possession of a Schedule I drug with intent to distribute (42 Alprazolam tablets)

·         Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (2 counts – one for 138 Xanax pills and the other for 35 LSD tablets)

·         Possession of hallucinogen (30 psilocybin chocolate bars)

·         Possession of cocaine (12 grams)

·         Possession of methamphetamine (17 grams)

Total estimated street value for the illegal drugs was placed at $32,050.

Diaz was arrested on Dec. 8. He posted bond of $12,600 and was released from custody on Dec. 11.”
