Gville doctor pleads guilty in pill mill case

A Gainesville doctor has pleaded guilty in federal court to running illegal pill mills.

Issac Sved pleaded guilty to charges related to conspiracy to dispense and distribute controlled substances. He was involved in prescribing excessive amounts of controlled substances without proper medical examinations.

A Justice Department official said, “This case highlights the ongoing efforts to combat the opioid epidemic and hold those who abuse their medical positions accountable.”

Sentencing will be at a later date.
