Gainesville issued 166 building permits last month for construction expected to total $18.3 million.
Twelve of those were for $2.5 million worth of new single-family homes. Three were for new commercial structures totaling $11.2 million.
The total for all types of permits for residential work – including additions, repairs, etc. – was 63. Those brought the value of residential permits for December to $3.4 million. On the commercial side of the ledger, total permits numbered 94 for $14.9 million worth of work.
