Gainesville issued 106 building permits last month for construction expected to total $23.4 million.
Twenty-two of those were for $4.2 million worth of new single-family homes. Four were for new commercial structures totaling $8.6 million.
The total for all types of permits for residential work – including additions, repairs, etc. – was 64. Those brought the value of residential permits for December to $18.9 million. On the commercial side of the ledger, total permits numbered 39 for $4.4 million worth of work.
