Last week, we reported on the number of building permits issued in December by the city of Gainesville. Today, we’ve got those numbers for the year, January-December.
The total for both commercial/industrial and residential permits of all type related to the work – including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, swimming pools, etc. – comes to 2,054 for work valued at $453.5 million.
That breaks down this way:
*New industrial structures – five of them worth $97.3 million. Fifty-three commercial projects worth $86.7 million. There were three permits issued for new apartments under the commercial category (number of units not listed) valued at $3.5 million. Total number of commercial permits – 1,063 for $387.6 million.
*New residential structures – 250 new single-family homes valued at $48.3 million and 18 duplex apartments worth $3.4 million. Total number of residential permits of all types – 855 valued at $64.9 million.
