Several Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) workers from the Gainesville-based District 1 office were singled-out for special recognition at the recent Georgia Transportation Summit.
*Justin Lott, Austin Gray, and Sue Anne Decker for their project design work on a roundabout in Lumpkin County.
*Traffic Ops Department won an award for its work on SR 11 at Old Swimming Pool Road in Jackson County.
*All Star Award. This special award was given to Josh Burns who manages the district signal shop and maintains over 750 signals districtwide.
*Jessica Kight received the Commissioner’s Merit Award. Kight worked as a procurement officer in 2022 and currently, she is serving as head of human resources for District 1.
*The Commissioner’s Achievement Award to Assistant Highway Supervisor Cristian Mejia.
