Gville among southern cities where home values expected to increase 3% or more over next year

GOBankingRates has compiled a list of 34 southern cities where home values are expected to grow at least 3% by February 2025, based on data from Zillow.

Gainesville, Jefferson, Athens, Statesboro, Savannah, and Albany are the Georgia cities that made the list.

GOBankingRates says it reviewed homes in the largest housing markets in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. Washington D.C. was also included. North Carolina leads the way with 11 entries. Texas and Florida, each with six, are tied for a distant second.

About Gainesville, the report noted that the average home value in February was $374,385. The projected value growth over the next year is 3.3 percent, which would up the average value to $386,740 by next February.
