GSP: Wet road plays a part in N. Hall accident

The state patrol says the accident that tied up rush hour traffic late Friday afternoon during a heavy rain was caused by a motorist traveling too fast for the wet conditions. The GSP released details of the accident, which closed the road into the early evening, Sunday morning.

“On March 1, 2024 a Ford Focus was traveling northbound on SR 60 (Thompson Bridge Road). A Honda Pilot was traveling southbound on SR 60.

The Ford Focus was traveling too fast for the wet and rainy conditions and lost control (at Lee Road). The Ford Focus rotated across the roadway and was struck by the Honda Pilot.

The driver of the Ford was transported to NEGA Gainesville. The driver of the Honda was treated by Hall County EMS on scene but was not transported. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed.

The driver (of the Ford Focus) was cited for Failure to Maintain lane and Too Fast for Conditions.”
