True North 400 will host a ceremonial groundbreaking Wednesday to mark the official construction start of the Georgia 400 Express Lanes project, a multi-billion-dollar investment officials says will “transform mobility in…Fulton and Forsyth counties.”
The project is the result of a public-private partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) which it is hoped will “enhance connectivity, reduce congestion and support smart growth in the region.”
The event will take place on the Avalon parking deck rooftop overlooking the corridor where construction work is already underway.
The project is the largest transportation investment in the state’s history.
