A 25-year-old Gainesville woman was being held on bond of $11,440 Thursday morning following her arrest earlier week for allegedly striking a young boy “repeatedly” with a leather belt.
Sunita Ali Dookie is charged with battery family violence act and cruelty to children in the first degree. She was booked into the Hall County Jail about 7:30 Tuesday morning.
“Dookie did cause harm to a 6-year-old male child, by striking to the upper and lower back repeatedly with a leather belt,” a Gainesville Police (GPD) spokesman wrote in an email. “This was reported to police through DFACS (state Division of Family & Children Services).”
