GPD: Traffic stop leads to drug distribution charges

A 40-year-old man was arrested recently by Gainesville Police on drug distribution charges following a traffic stop.

Anthony Bernard Allen was stopped for making an improper turn. In addition to the traffic charge, Allen is facing charges of methamphetamine distribution, possession of marijuana, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

His car was stopped at Linwood Drive and Thompson Bridge Road, according to police spokesman Kevin Holbrook. “Subject was in possession of a handgun, 9.6 grams of methamphetamine, 45 ecstasy pills, a scale and 2 grams of marijuana,” Lt. Holbrook said.

Allen was still in the Hall County Jail Friday morning. Hi bond has been set at $2,730.
