The lights went out about mid-afternoon Monday at and around the busiest intersection in Gainesville when a pickup left the road and struck a utility pole.
It happened at Jesse Jewell Parkway and E.E. Butler Parkway.
A traffic alert from Gainesville Police said the truck’s driver “appears to have had a medical emergency (and suffered) minor injuries.”
Traffic was diverted for a time while the roads were cleared of debris and closed while utility repairs were made.
