In one of his first acts of business in the New Year, Gov. Brian Kemp has named 18 new Senior Judges for the state.
Sixteen, including Kathleen Gosselin of Gainesville, will serve as a Senior Judge in the Superior Courts of Georgia, another was named a Senior Judge in the State Courts, and the eighteenth was given Senior Judge status for the state’s Juvenile Courts.
Judge Gosselin retired at the end of last year after 38 years on the bench in Hall County, two years as a State Court Judge and 36 in Superior Court.
Also named a Superior Court Senior Judge was Judge Currie Mingledorff II of Barrow County.
Senior judges are retired judges who can be called upon by sitting judges to serve in emergencies or when there are unusual circumstances that require it.
