After 50-plus years – and generations of residents – Harrison Square Apartments are being demolished and will be replaced with Lakeside at Harrison Village.
The latter will be a 55-and-older community, according to the Gainesville Housing Authority.
Construction is now expected to begin next month, and it’s expected to take a year-and-a-half to finish the work.
Lakeside’s 100 new units will sit on the Harrison Square site on Harrison Drive.
