GHCC Arbor Day art, essay winners

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and the Georgia Forestry Service recently announced the winners of this year’s Arbor Day Student Art and Essay Contest.  Seventy-five student art entries and 50 essays were submitted with the topic “I Speak for the Trees.”

Student Award Recipients

5th Grade Essay Award Recipients:

1st place: Ava Burnette – Enota Multiple Intelligence Academy

Runner Up: Grace Beasley – Sandra Dunagan Deal Elementary

Runner Up: Mayrin Rivas – Centennial Arts Academy

3rd Grade Art Award Recipients:

1st Place: Cora Gaines – Sardis Enrichment School

Runner Up: Yamileth Albarron-Suarez – Suarez-Centennial Arts Academy

Runner Up: Leeah Garrett – Sandra Dunagan Deal Elementary

The Vision 2030 Board created the “What A Tree Means to Me” Visionary Award (winner pictured) to recognize a student for an outstanding piece of art showcasing the connections and impact that trees have on our health and our community.  The winner of the 2025 Visionary Award is Ragon Stump, Enota Multiple Intelligence Academy.
